Many are hibernating, so here is a reminder
of what they bring to our urban scene.

John Montre grew up in the Midwest and spent 15 years as a newspaper photojournalist. While pursuing his second career as a librarian in Saint Louis, he returned to his love of photography and for 20 years has documented the Delmar Loop — his backyard. A book with a selection of his photographic meanderings, Loop Style, can be checked out from the University City Library. You can view more of John’s superb photography at https://itep.smugmug.com/. (Editor’s Note: I challenge you to look at John’s travel photos and not travel.)
These are great pics— all of them. I especially like the one of the sax player in the snow. Great job capturing the wnergy they bring. As a photographer myself, I really appreciate your artistry. — Mike
Love the photo set
This is an excellent set, John! The facial and body expressions really sell it.
Thank you for your thoughts. It’s what I live for — and the comments encourage the writers and artists who submit their work to Supplement St. Louis.
